Things to Do in Reno, Nevada!

Never been to Reno, Nevada but going for the 2026 conference? Well, you have come to the right place. Below are a few favorite spots in all categories, located within 5 miles of this year’s conference location, the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino.
 
Breakfast/Brunch:
  • Tahoe Bagel Co.: New York-style bagels, do I have to say more? Serving both breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches. Open 6 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday, and 7 am to 2:30 pm on Sunday.
  • Arnie’s Café: A family-owned diner serving traditional breakfast and brunch, with a specialty in hearty American comfort food. They also serve my personal favorite breakfast food: crapes! Aside from breakfast, they have burgers, melts, and sandwiches for lunch. All their prices are reasonable. Open 7 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday and 7 am to 2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.
  • Walden’s Coffeehouse: Breakfast, lunch, and COFFEE. Their prices are also very reasonable for those balling on a budget. Some of their popular dishes include the breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and huevos rancheros. Open daily from 7 am to 2 pm.
    • First-time customers get a free coffee!
 
Dinner:
  • Peppermill Resort Spa Casino
    • Bimini Steakhouse: think high-end steakhouse known for its beef tenderloin filets and Maine lobster. The interior of the steakhouse seems very Insta-worthy! Open 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm Sunday to Thursday and 5:30 pm to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday.
      • More than 1,000 bottles of wine
      • Voted Reno’s Best Steakhouse by Reno News & Review and Reno Metromix
    • Oceano: Just as the name would suggest, this is an all-things-under-the-sea restaurant serving things like sushi, chowders, sandwiches, etc. Oceano is open 11 am to 10 pm every day.
      • Have a large appetite? Oceano has all-you-can-eat sushi!!
    • Romanza: White tablecloth Italian restaurant with an atmosphere that will transport you directly to ancient Rome with classic sculptures and Corinthian columns. The meats and seafood are imported from Italy, and the pastas are homemade daily. Open 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm from Wednesday to Sunday.
      • Voted USA Today 10 Best Find Dining in Reno and Best Italian Food by Casino Player Magazine
  • La Condesa Eatery: A unique Mexican restaurant that is well known for its bold flavor fusion. Just looking at the photos of their dishes is making me hungry! The restaurant’s website emphasizes the casual, laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. Open 11 am to 9 pm on Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 10 pm on Friday, 4 pm to 10 pm on Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
    • Voted in the top 100 restaurants in the U.S. on Yelp
  • House of Mexica: A fully vegan restaurant located less than a mile from the conference. The fans seem to love this place, as evidenced by its 4.7 rating on Yelp. Open from 11 am to 7 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Closed on Monday.
 
Relaxation:
  • Peppermill Resort Spa Casino
    • Go for a swim in the pool or soak in the hot tub on the lower deck. Open daily from 7 am to 9 pm. Private cabanas and daybed rentals are available for purchase.
    • Spa Toscana: Need to relax after that stressful presentation? Treat yourself and mosey on down to the resort’s spa and salon. Services for guests 18 years or older. Open Sunday through Thursday, 8 am to 8 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 8 am to 9 pm.
      • Rated third-best hotel spa in the country by USA Today 10 Best
  • Reno Riverwalk District: Walk alongside the Truckee River on many different walking paths that contain art along the way and local shops to stop by and browse.
  • Virginia Lake: One of Reno’s main attractions that has a paved walking path around the water. Whether you want to run, casually stroll, or have a picnic, this lake is a perfect place for a relaxing nature break!
 
Family Friendly Activities:
  • Game Lab arcade: located within the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino on the 3rd floor, next to the Parking Plaza. Open 9 am to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 9 am to 11 pm Sunday through Thursday.
    • Join the Game Lab Arcade Club and receive 2 free games for every “A” on a report card, an average 10% discount on most games, and earn daily free games.
    • Now Open: The Game Lab “Retro Room.” The hotel website calls it a “nostalgic tribute to the 1980s arcade gaming era,” featuring games like Pac-Man and Frogger. All games priced at 25 cents!
  • Urban Air Adventure Park: Bored while mom or dad is at the conference? Spend the day at this adventure park doing things like ziplines, ropes course, rock climbing, dodgeball, and over 20 more fun activities! Open from 4 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The Discovery: A science and technology museum with endless interactive exhibits! Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. The tickets are only $11 for kids aged 1 to 5, $14 for youth aged 6 to 17, $16 for adults, and $15 for older adults aged 65 and up! Kids under 1 year old are free.
 
Night on the Town:
  • Midtown Reno: Reno’s “trendiest strip” with tons of craft cocktail bars, local restaurants, murals, and shops. If you’re looking for an artsy strip to bar hop, I may have found the perfect place for you!
  • Carl’s The Saloon: Looking for an LGBTQ+ bar? Go to “Reno’s oldest Gayborhood Bar” that gives dive bar. Think darts, pool, lawn chairs. Can you picture the vibe? Open from noon to 2 am Sunday through Thursday and noon to 4 am Friday and Saturday.
  • Peppermill Resort Spa Casino
    • Fireside Lounge: Think vintage casino bar with plush booths, mirrors, and even a firepit. Open Monday and Tuesday from 3 pm to 11 pm and 3 pm to 5 am Wednesday through Sunday.
      • Voted Best Casino Bar and Best Romantic Bar by Reno News & Review
      • Voted Best After Hours Spot by Casino Player Magazine
    • Sports Bar: Is your favorite team playing? Check out the Sports Bar located next to the Race and Sportsbook. 34 HD screens offer 2-sided, 360 degrees of sports everywhere you look.
    • Terrace Lounge: Tons of craft cocktails and mocktails. Coming from someone who used to bartend and loves a unique cocktail, this menu looks breathtaking…They are open from noon to 11:30 pm Sunday to Thursday and noon to 1 am Friday and Saturday.
      • Did I mention live music daily?
    • Biscotti’s Bar: More of a beer person? Biscotti’s Bar offers more than 50 premium craft beers from IPAs to sours to lagers. Open Sunday to Friday from 7 am to 9:30 pm.
